1. How many desktop computers in your home?
   (That sentence no verb.... it bothers me.) One. At the moment, bits_2_whole gave me another as a birthday gift (assembled from scrap parts she has), but it's still being modified.

2. How many laptops?
   One.

3. What kind of internet service do you have? (i.e. phone modem, dsl, etc.)
   1/512 ADSL.

4. Do you tend to use more than one email account regularly?
   Have to. Business, blog, my "personal" (have had it since 2000, I think), dating... do I need to continue? *grin*

5. Do you use email as a main source for communicating to your family and friends?
   No. I keep in touch with my family through our own IRC channel and our discussion forum. When it comes to friends it's mostly emails, blogs and forums.

6. What kind of computer monitor do you own (flatscreen, or other)?
   CRT (two of them actually).

First time in a long, long time a topic which allows some ranting. *grin*

July 16th

1. Do you feel that children these days are disciplined enough?
   No, they are not. For some reason parents nowadays don't see the point to teach their kids than anyone older than them (kids) should be respected and treated respectfully.
   I have also listened children screaming in grocery store few times too many to believe that modern parents would teach any discipline (nor manners) for their children.

2. What are your thoughts about the "time out chair?"
   It equals with The Corner I assume? Great idea. It teaches the kid some patience and causality.

3. When YOU were a child, what form of discipline did your parents use most often?
   You think I remember things that old? O_o
   When I swore my mouth was washed with soap, but my mother had to stop it because she realised that I used fouwl language just to get my mouth washed. Apparently I fancied the soap...

4. Did your parents have to constantly remind you of the guidelines they set for you, or did they just have to LOOK at you as a "gentle"reminder?
   "Parent". I lived with both of them until my 13th year, but our mother was the parent, our father mostly just existed. Anyway... Thinking of it now I would say that I was relatively well behaving kid, even though not perfect, so it probably has been mostly The Look.
   Ask from my mother, she knows this better. *grin*

5. What are your thoughts about screaming kids in public places?
   In generally it just shows the lack of manners. The kids aren't ones to blame, but the parents.
   Sometimes kids scream just because they are tired and in those occasions I would *so* like to go to one of those parents and ask are they masochists when they take tired kid with them somewhere and not take them home where a tired kid belongs to

6. What do you feel is the BIGGEST mistake parents make when it comes to disciplining children?
   Saying that the kid was bad when doing something. Children are born as tabula rasa, and they need to be socialized to the society and if parents don't do it how the H*ll they think their kids would know how to behave in the society?

And I know I do not have my own children and I am also very aware that it is easier to preach than act, but when/if I have children they will be brought up well-behaved.
I have heard it few times that I will be a good mother because I am so affectionate, to which I usually answer Yeah, and I will be The Mother From Hot Place because I am so strict. The answer I have always got has been That's your another good trait to be a good mother.
What can one say other than Bring in the intelligent, suitably depraved man who's crazy enough to marry me and have a house full of kids?

   if it applies as such: City of Angels (aka. Bangkok) from 15th of June to 16th of July, 2006.

2. Would you go there again? Why or why not?
   Heck yes!
   Nice climate, loads of delicious fruits, great cuisine, cheap cross stitch patterns... I may have mention that I liked it there.

3. How many vacations do you take in one year?
   Depends on aspect of vacation. None in normal year.

4. Where would you REALLY like to go on your next vacation, if money was no issue, and how long would you stay?
   If money, and cats, was no issue I'd go around the world. And knowing myself it would be a long, long trip. (All those museums and ruins to explore! Tons of bookstores! All that.)

5. Do you put a little money aside each week (or month) to save up for your vacation?
   No. As I live from hand to mouth budget at this moment.

   Canvas and watercolours? For some reason I doubt that watercolours would attach very well on painting canvas... If we skip the facts I'd probably just create an impression of my current emotional state with colours.

   Depends. Usually I am the conscience though due my overstrung moral fibers.

   No.

1. Do you ever use all caps when typing online messages?
   Heaven forbid, no!

2. Does it bother you when other people use all caps in their messages?
   Abso-friggin'-lutely. Just ask how much.

3. Do you use abbreviations (i.e. lol, brb, etc.) when typing email messages or text messages?
   I use brb when IMing, otherwise no. Sorry to say, but I find it rather silly to use such abbreviations - not to mention that I find it very disrespectful in most cases.

4. Do you ever receive faxes or other correspondence from a professional office that are typed in all caps? If so, what do you think of that?
   Faxes? People still use them? o_O *grin*
   Nevertheless, I'd find it extremely unprofessional.

5. Do you rely on the computer program to catch your typing errors, or do you proofread your material before sending it out?
   I trust myself, and I do proofread everything more than once (still, typos occur).

1. If you could rewrite one pivotal moment in history, good or bad, to make a change, which moment would that be AND what are some of the consequences that you believe might come from that change?

This was the difficult one, and if I hadn't watched B5 last night I hadn't answered to this whole meme. Thanks to Passing Trough Gethsemane for the idea...

I think most of you have heard of crucifixion of certain Yeshua of Nazareth about 2007 years ago? As an outcast in a Christian society I do play sometimes with the idea of what if..?
His goal was to reform Judaism, not to become Messiah of a new religion, but as Romans crucified him he became a martyr and certain power crazed individuals got their possibility to become powerful and control lives of others...
What would Judaism be if Jesus had never been crucified? What would be world's most common religion then? Would we have more religious tolerance, would it be easier for us heathens, people with 'wrong' belief to live? How different would world be without crusades and Christian missionarism?

I am not saying world would be more peaceful place to live as we really can't know, but at least world would be more varied in means of thinking.
It is also possible that no one would never had heard of Islam, which, in my opinion, would actually be a pity. Some may ask how in Earth you say there wouldn't be Islam?... Mohammad studied Judaism and Christianity before he became a prophet, before Gabriel became to him and if you think of it Islam contains major elements from both Judaism and Christianity.

In my opinion world would be more varying religion wise, in my opinion there would be more unique cultures.

I am not against Christianity, I am against the fact that in its name people have been massacred, in its name cultures have been destroyed, in its name has happened so much bad that I am sure that their Messiah cries blood out of agony... because what he preached was love and understanding, not trying to make everyone alike and live in continuous shame.

Define unusual. In the circles I hang around everything I do is completely normal, though it may be less common, but nothing I do is unusual as such. And, for someone who don't share my interests everything I do for fun is unusual...

   I don't do favouritism.

2. What do you do to de-stress from a hectic day?
   Now that was difficult... not. *g* Cross stitching to the rescue! And/or petting cats/ listening music/ *beeb*...

3. What is your favorite piece of clothing to wear in the winter?
   Anything warm, though I love "Babushka scarfs" (my choice is, surprisingly, black). I also love mittens, and my mother, who's crazy knitter, keeps me in hand-knitted woollen mittens (I've few *ahem* pairs of them).

4. Do you prefer discussing problems with a sibling, a parent, a significant other, a psychologist, or a total stranger?
   Taking that I had all of those? Significant other.

5. How long have you been blogging?
   This has been asked some time ago... Today: two years, six months, 21 days.
   Yes, I know that I'm PITA.

   Doesn't matter.

   Erm, never?

   They don't show them in here, and even it'd be possible to see them trough net their timing is usually bad for someone who lives in other side of the globe.

Life as it is and Monday Madness

Well, Saturday evening wasn't dedicated to stitching, but socializing. N. invited me over and after some little persuasion I accepted it (usually I try to avoid human contact when I'm suffering from sleep deprivation), and I'm glad I did: we had good time.
And my sleeping rhythm got back to normal, deducing from last night. Which is very good as I slept almost 14 hours (got up noonish).

We call it Monday because it's mad... aka. Monday Madness

   Two years, four months and 19 days.

   Once or twice, IIRC.

   Four or five months.

   6-7, I think.

   Does my sister count? As she is in my "blogroll", and I have met her few times... *grin*

   When I have need to do so, which is not very often.

1. Do you do dishes by hand or do you use a dishwasher?
   Both. Dishwasher doesn't scrub and therefore can't wash everything clean. The reason why I just love my dishwasher is that when making chicken pan gets greasy, and I *hate* washing that sort of stuff by hand as most dish liquids just don't remove all the grease (it may feel clean, but when you touch the surface... yakkity!) so I prewash them in dishwasher and after it I scrub them by hand.

2. How many people have your cell phone number?
   Don't know.

3. Do you shower in the morning or at night?
   Both actually. I shower when I feel like I need it.

4. Do you ever have a song 'stuck' in your head?
   Just ask how often...

5. Do you pay your bills when they arrive, or do you wait until closer to the due date to pay them?
   Closer to due date - or after...

6. Are you obsessive about anything in particular?
   Obsession is in the eye of beholder.

   Ignorance, ignorance being voluntary stupidity and lack of curiosity.

   I've been playing with thought of shaving my head for years and would be more than willing to do it if someone would actually give me money out of it! (Hey, money for new stash is always good!)

   First define what you mean by whacky. (Isn't it wacky?)

3. What do you think is a "large sum of money?"
   Any amount I don't have. In general large sum of money is in my case anything over 50 euros.

   I don't even watch TV....

   No, see previous answer. And I can name only one reality TV show due my dislike towards staring the TV, so I really can't say.

   Depending, once or twice (in a year).

   Depends on an account. My main one goes trough filtering program so I check it when I happen to be next to computer. Blogging account is checked when Gtalk tells there's something to check, and one my other Yahoo account is checked when YIM tells me to.

4. How often do you generally look at a clock/watch on any given day?
   Depends on a day, and my need for current time.

5. How do you handle telemarketer phone calls?
   "I'm not buying anything, have a nice day. <click>" (Though one smartypants called me in one Saturday morning after wild night out and I wasn't that nice....)

   Depends on the definition: Hill Street Blues (When I was young...), C.S.I., Cops... Old ones as I don't watch TV nowadays.

   Yes, I do. During last three months I've sent loads of them, all to one person.
   I like SMSs. They let you think what you're saying, they let receiver the peace not to answer right away, and they're cheap.

   I'll skip this one.

   Hmm... few forums, Bloglines, RedHotPawn, Wikipedia - just to name few.

Yes and no. Case sensitive, but apparently I have to generalize... No (we're not talking of stash shopping now as that is what I love most.... well, at least when it comes to shopping ).

3. Online shopping is almost tolerable as I can do it in peace of my own home, with coffee mug in one hand and mouse in other hand. And if you're as shallow as I am you may enjoy not having a need to look good.
