Boy's blog name

It dawned on me when I was in the bus talking to this old lady who said how big Boy is and I told her how little he was when he was born... then it dawned on me (repetitio est mater studiorum, but maybe not now...), Boy's going to be Tiny!
All big men in movies are called Tiny, aren't they, and as my tiny little guy is already wearing one year old's clothes (he'll be six months within 1½ weeks) and is bigger than average baby of his age it would suit him well.

And he'll always be my tiny little guy, no matter if he grows up to be 2 meters and 120 kilos of pure muscle (my metrically challenged readers should visit here) as it seems.

And Tiny has more ooompah in it than just Boy, doesn't it?

Writer's Block: A Rose by Any Other Name...aka. "Because I am tired, bored, tired and avoiding sleep

Story yes, interesting, I doubt.

Sonnenschein used to call me Snow Queen when we met - when I was still, erm, officially, happily, married.
But when I was thinking of my LJ user name it was taken so I twisted it a bit. This is why I'm something as girly as snowprincipessa. (There were thousands of reasons why I ended that marriage, but I have to admit that one of the things pushing me off of that cliff was Mr. S. - I think that I never told that to him. All the things you remember years later.)

If I were to choose my name now I think I would be highly inclined to consider Anyamene, just because I am huge name geek and love affects to my life deeply. Not to mention that meaning of name bears huge importance for me, and I like the sound of Anyamene.

(P.S. I haven't forgot, it's just insane week at work and my brains have turned to mush. Thank G-d I'm off coming Sunday...)

Unconscious mutterings - and surname in Google

Week 235

I say ... and you think ... ?

  1. Voices :: Hearing
  2. Have to :: Must
  3. Machine :: Sewing
  4. Seventh grade :: 13
  5. Beach :: Sand
  6. Roommate :: Annoyance
  7. Cyclone :: Wind
  8. Theater :: Dream Theater
  9. Pregnant :: Gravid
  10. Phoebe :: Friends

Images...

Once again I played with Google's image search, this once with my surname and found a picture which made a great avatar (elsewhewre) - even it is yellow: Peri.

Repetitio est mater studiorum etc.:

"In Persian mythology, Peris (in Persian پری Pari) are descended from fallen angels who have been denied paradise until they have done penance. In earlier sources they are described as agents of evil; later, they are benevolent.
They are beautiful, exquisite winged, fairy-like creature ranking between angels and evil spirits who sometimes visit the realm of mortals.
In Indian Mythology Pari is the equivalent of a fairy.
Also, a common Turkish name for women in the form of Perihan, meaning queen of the fairies or Peri, meaning fairy." (From what I have heard it also stands for "extraordinary" woman (in Hindi) and a beautiful woman (in Turkish) - and, "of course", I know that it stands for fruit in Hebrew.))
Call me an angel or consider me as a demon, you are never wrong...

Asthma attacks

If I hate something it's having an asthma attack while sleeping... How I know I have them if I sleep? They come into my dreams, though nowadays my Salbutamol discus is also in my dreams, but nevertheless I don't enjoy breathing problems when I am awake nor when I am sleeping. EVen less when I am sleeping as it means that I will wake up tired... and I should clean and do the laundry and pack my things and all that...

TNT: what it was?

TNT: I had already forgot whole thing... Do you know what this little thing does?

...now only thing I need is suitable adapter and I'll get rid of that annoying cable which hangs in HP's hiney... (Yes, shock and awe, it is white, but it was free. *grin*)

SIL: By the way, I'm beginning to doubt that SIL reads my blog. She has been using $NAME-2-BE lately... after that little rant of mine.

Cortisone: Kills. My ovaries got upset and they have tried to murder me last two days... I had already forgot how much something can hurt.

Official YouTube: o.O! (It's about 9 minutes long...)

By the way...

Coming to think of it I find something in my SIL's behaviour very... interesting.

I was thinking of bits_2_whole's gift and realised that she actually has her nameday 28th (28th of December is The Day of the Innocent Children (straight translation) and, in addition of being day of all Piias and Pias, it's nameday for every person whose name is not in Finnish calendar) so even if/as I'm late with her wrist warmers there's another suitable dates to time her gift to... which lead me to realise that only time when my SIL has congratulated me during this year, or in past few years IIRC, was my nameday in this May. What makes it odd is that

  1. she didn't congratulate me on my birthday (which is way more important date), exactly two months later

    and

  2. she knows (Information is provided, if she hasn't bother to read it it's her problem) that I'm going to change my first names (it has been known by my family about a year now, I think) - just haven't got that far yet (ie. I have to get new passport after doing it and I hate those applications, and it costs money (passport, not the name change)).
It was only time she has congratulated me on my name day, as far as I remember... Do we sense something fishy here?
Maybe we don't, but in my odd world that is kind of disrespectful, as in my opinion she tries to hang in past on the expense of other people, and that is something I can't tolerate.
She just can't accept things changing... which makes me wonder how someone can be so afraid of it? (Not that I'd love it, but I can live with it.) Or maybe it's because my names won't be Finnish so it makes me even less "normal" and that's an absolute scandal...

On name, again

I came across this few days ago while doing some research on number symbolism:

    Queen of Sheba:
    "...In Persian folklore she is considered the daughter of a Chinese king and a peri..."

Latest issue of The Gift Of Stitching is out, and I've to say that it's well worth that ~80 cents which it's per issue. Even it's filled with Christmas designs... Now, this is a magazine I might like in the long run (this was second issue from my subscription): it's cheap (10€/year), lacks most of that unnecessary yadda-yadda most paper versions have and has designs I might even stitch some day. Shocking, absolute scandal even. O_o

/me likes.

And I think that Futurecast has a name: Pihka. (Resin in English and came from the fact that our little dragon will be in shades of orange, red and brown. It reminds me of amber, but Amber is too girlish. So, I thought of Meripihka (literally sea resin), but it was a bit long, so I decided to shorten it a bit.)
Ok, Pihka seems to be considered as a female name in here, but if you ask from me it's neutral enough (as we don't determine sex of word with last vowel (actually we don't sex words), otherwise I'd be triple neutral with minor twist of femininity (three of my four names end up with i, one ends up with a (which is interesting as my planed name change would/will change the order: 3 as and 1 i))).

I've try to remember to check its colours in daylight (when ever that little thing wants to get over the horizon (ah, 43 minutes to sunrise (at 8:17 am)) as I may end up adding some blends...

/me wants Monday!

Name and other things

I'm getting used being called Oda so I really have to change my name - and to be honest I'll change it when ever I can spend 40 euros to get a new passport (again).

Adopt-A-Stitcher and Valentine Exchange

I got my adopteés name and I'll be sending little parcels to Germany during year 2006, (and receiving them from Canada) though I'll concentrate on her after I finish my Valentine Exchange item... which I can't even begin before I get better.
But I'm thinking to begin stitching it in beginning of January, as I want to get it finished before Silhouettes SAL begins at EMS BB... then I also should finish my Winter topiary before it.

Graah! Well, I've time in my hands so...

Names.

Oda - "Song" (or "Odiya", which is song of G-d)

It begins with O like my current first name. And it seems to be some kind of a habit in my mom's side of the family to name one girl with name which begins with O.

I think it'll be who I'll become.

Rósa's card.

I just got better pic from her, so may I proudly present:

^^

And I just came home. Sent CS to chanda_m and did some shopping for Valentine Exchange...

It has been a good day today.

~Names.

About peris... I did this today. Kind of funny I'd say.

And it seems that I will change my first names (first time is always free ) as I can't write my first name anymore. It's bit cumbersome when you're used to pay with 'plastic'... Apparently reason to that is that I finally found suitable candidate as a first name. Have to see about it anyway. At least I've to think a bit still.

Blog re-do

It seems to me that in about every two months I have to change outlook of my blog, and here we go again.

Btw, my first name comes from Samí word for forest... yes, I'm Forest Fairy by name so that picture is more than suitable - and I chose it before realizing thing behind the name.

Thoughts about fate and meanings of names.

In order to sound completely mad I'll write about something I thought in night between Friday and Saturday after certain dream of mine. In fact I talked about this with my ex and as he didn't call medics I think I can't be that mad...

    "...Peris (in Persian پری Pari) are descended from fallen angels who have been denied paradise until they have done penance..."

    "...Their wailing foretells of a death nearby, though it never causes such a death..."

    "...exiles driven out of heaven.."

...for starters. Then one of my "first" names...
    "...it could derive from the name of the goddess HECATE; it could be related to Greek aikia "torture"..."
...torture... Fallen angel who has to recompense something... And what about Hecate then?
    "...in Greek religion and mythology, goddess of ghosts and witchcraft. Originally she seems to have been an extremely powerful and benevolent goddess, identified with three other goddesses — Selene (in heaven), Artemis (on earth), and Persephone (in the underworld). From the three supposedly came her image in Greek art as a figure with three bodies or three heads. Generally she is identified as a spirit of black magic, Persephone's attendant, with the power to conjure up dreams, phantoms, and the spirits of the dead. In the upper world she haunted graveyards and crossroads and was invisible to all eyes except those of the hounds who attended her."
But...
    "...Yet Hecate has been called tender-hearted..."

In this point I had came to conclusion that I'm here to make amends. Sounds crazy, yes, but it doesn't clash with my religious views. It only clashes with my reasonable side...

    "...The purpose of reincarnation is seen as a chance for a soul to achieve a goal not achieved in a previous life and as a chance to reward man for fulfilling the desires of his Creator. Reincarnation has also been viewed as punishment for a sinner’s previous deeds..." (Original source)

    More in here and here.

    "...Some sources indicate that reincarnation is a routine process, while others indicate that it only occurs in unusual circumstances, where the soul left unfinished business behind. "
And to drop a bomb and to sound COMPLETELY crazy... reincarnation anyone?

So?

Odd things have been happening lately. So odd things that I can't believe that it has no meaning.
And what bothers me isn't thing what should bother me in common opinion: what bothers me is that in the end I was one who needed space (I'm not jumping on walls here even I don't know anything about my future and with whom I'll spend it with in the end). I need to find out what's behind the name, what's my meaning, what is really important..?

Though... I think I know what is that thing I've to accomplish before I die.

Complaining and other things.

It's really freaky: I'm idling in my regular cross stitching forum and I just noticed that there's new user with nickname which is also name of Sonnenschein's (In fact his first name.). Ok, it's quite common name, but it's freaky anyway. At least in this time of night. (Maybe I've to tease him about that? )

Home page.

It's back online about 10th day of October. Which is great as I miss my link list, and it's horrible to use my HTML editor when it can't find background pics etc., which makes it awfully slow. It seems to make check-outs every frigging time I change mode from writing to preview and vice versa.
I'm just bit annoyed as HTML coding would have been great way to spend night. I can't sleep because of migraine, and I need something to do.

Migraine.

Still having migraine attack. I haven't got headache every day; day before yesterday I almost vomited (I don't vomit unless I'm very sick or I've terrible hangover - but I haven't drank any alcohol since August. (And I can't even remember when I've been intoxicated.)) suddenly and yesterday my stomach had it's opinion about things. But mainly I've had headache more or less.
At this moment I've 800mgs of ibuprofen in my system and it doesn't really help very much. It makes sharpest parts of pain duller(?), but still there's this aching in right side of my brains.

I think that this came because I ate all those carbohydrates earlier in this week. I don't know. It may be excess cheese consuming too, or drinking too much coffee or... There's millions of possibilities, unfortunately.

Bookmarks, part gazillion.

Yes, more about bookmarks.

I had this idea today when I made that Halloween bookmark. At first it sounded bit odd to me, but then I tried... and yes, beads do go to bookmarks if they're small ones (In this case Mill Hill's petite glass beads). I wont tell what was their actual use before that bookmark is in it's destination, but I'm quite happy with that solution. In fact it was great that I decided to spend 1,8 €s to those. Only thing I miss is that blending filament as I really could use it now...
