The best cure for cold is...

...new stash, of course. (And some emailed sweetness from mr. Wonferful.)

The reason for this order was the fabric for the Monopoly SAL.

But, when I went through the order I noticed that the count is wrong as I had ordered 32 count and not 28 count, and after I had confirmed it with a ruler, I took a picture of both of the fabric and the receipt and emailed 1-2-3 Stitch!... Two hours later they emailed me and promised to send the correct fabric, which is the same colour, but in 32 count.
This means that I got 27'' x 36'' cut of 28 count Star Sapphire Jobelan for free.

That's what I call customer service.

Bank related amusement

I went to open that bank account today and learnt interesting things about certain Finnish bank.

It took me fifteen minutes to learn that

  1. They don't open accounts without making an appointment. (How smart is that?!)
  2. I can't open an account, one without any credit options (card etc.), to their bank because my credit history is not flawless.
I understand that they have right to choose their customers, but denying an account based on the fact that person has nasty mark in her credit history?! An account without any credit. I'd have understood if I had walked in and asked for loan...
Well, I headed to my old bank (one I have had account in for about eight years (I changed to them because my previous bank lost their customer service's quality somewhere)) and ten minutes later I was out of door, all the paper work done, my new account in good working order in every possible way and in two weeks I'll receive Visa Electron for said account.

It's always nice to know that some people have eye for business - and room for little, low-income /me as their customer. And it makes one wonder business principles of certain companies...

Don't you just love...

...those prewritten customer service replies?

I contacted PayPal's customer service because my bank account was in my old, and now deleted, account's files, and even I have deleted that account days ago I can't add it to my current account because PP's system claims it is in use...
So, to make me suitably annoyed I received email from PP where they adviced me to delete my old account, and guided how to do it... But, I had clearly stated that I already have done it.

Is it that difficult to actually read what your customer tries to tell you?

Of course I could always be mean and just simply open a new bank account. It'd save great deal of fuss, taking that I choose either one of the banks which have their offices in my suburb...

About Silkweaver

RĂ³sa, I answer here because I was about to blog about it anyway, I got that mail and I've to say I'm shocked, even I haven't read it completely.

I'd say they'll lose some big bucks because of that. For example my few euros as they were my only fabric supplier and I don't order hand-dyed that often - only one's I've bought myself are from Odds&Ends.
What really does it is this

    International customers:
Please note that on all orders that contain any of the standard sale items from the Odds & Ends page or any other discounted items that your order will be subject to actual shipping charges. If you are paying via credit card, there will be an additional shipping charge added after your order has been shipped...
Sorry girls, not for me, thanks. This rat leaves sinking ship without asking any additional questions.

So, in search of new favourite store. It was fun as long as it lasted.

Silkweaver just gets better

~16 hours from order my parcel was packed and sent! Soon they'll send parcels before I even order anything.

Though there's one reason not to be completely satisfied: one fabric seems to be back order, and due in 17th. That was meant to be my MSAL fabric - fortunately I was unable to decide between two shades so my options are:

  1. Use that other fabric
  2. Start late
Starting late would mean about two weeks delay in my MSAL progress, so I'm not quite sure about that...

But now I'll go back to bed. I just came to drink some water - and of course I checked my order's status just because I happened to walk past my computer (which happens to be always on)...
Otherwise very good explanation, but I don't need to walk past computer desk if I go to kitchen.

Yes, my Silkweavers are coming to mommy.

Sleeping.

I've slept like a baby last week or so (woke up every other hour to cry, or how was it?). Solid eight hours of sleep every night and I even wake up at the same time every day.

Finish.

(Added 10:53)

Fourth design of Best Friends SAL is now finished:

I'm not very fond of dogs, but this one is quite cute little fellow.

Good hair day, BS and whining.

First day in this week I've good hair day, and apparently I've to thank my new shampoo. It seems to me that it's not only my skin which dislikes central heating, my hair tends to dry also during winter - at least nowadays.
I ordered moisturizing shampoo when I made that cosmetics order few days back and that parcel arrived yesterday - think about that: I placed an order in Tuesday evening and goodies were behind my door ~11:30 in Thursday morning (not to mention that postages were 0€ and it included home-delivery).
In fact I've also good face day, don't know why though as I've been bit blue lately. (Worrying about things I can't affect in any way; sucks to be me.) Anyway, while putting my war paint (or make-up, what ever) on I realized something. It's bit hilarious that for someone as blonde/ pale as I am carmine red lip gloss is not too dark (as I feared). In fact it's exactly same shade as my own natural colour is. Now I understand why people sometimes have difficulties to believe that I don't use lipstick.

And as I'm talking about look related things I add few words about colours and their affect... Black (more like anti-colour) seems to be something I need to stay sane. And preferably very much of it. Few days ago I tested and wore completely normal colours, dark beige+ burgundy, and felt bit odd whole day. After it I've used mostly black and felt much better.
Today... dark beige corduroys and I've no problems using them, but I've black shirt.
Anyway, it's quite interesting how some colour just seems to be so deep in my personality that I feel incomplete without it.

LNS and general stash shopping.

I emailed my LNS owner yesterday with specification of those items I haven't received from her. There's one chart I've ordered about six months ago and still haven't got it... Most of them have been ordered over two months ago and I haven't heard from them since (my euros were nice anyway).... I've decided not to order anything from her for some time, and not before I get everything I've paid for. And it's very possible that I will move my stash collecting euros to online stores abroad.

I'm irritated because I could have got those things faster ordering them from UK or USA, with same price or even cheaper. And I'm irritated that she hasn't answered to me yet, as normally she answers very quickly.

And I got email from Willow Fabrics yesterday. There has been some problem with my card when they've tried to process my order. It bothers me as there's money in my account and WF approves Electrons... Well, I'll know more when I get answer from my bank.
