Latest frog from mouth of one of the neighbourhood kids... She's a bit crazy.
He thought I didn't hear it, I assume, but it also made me think. If the fact that I am who I am, reserved and sober homebody, makes me crazy then I rather am raving lunatic than something people around here consider as sane. (Most people in the mind trade would probably consider me very sane, if only based on the fact that I don't suffer from SAD and I don't need any form of reality modification (drugs, alcohol, somesuch) to have fun..).

It also made me think about the opinions of their parents' and the fact that as someone who represents the residents I should have some respect from them... But this is the common problem in here: Finnish society has got too individualistic, most people don't give a damn about others and those who do are oddballs, like myself. And yet they benefit from those idealistic idealists...

Humans.

Anyway, to the better parts of this day:

  1. I wasn't at all tired when I got home (and I was, once again too efficient for my own good and got home earlier than I should've) and managed three loads of laundry, quite some dishes and "cooked" the fabric for FoG.
  2. I got money and ordered new DVDs (among them is Rose Red, which will be my trip down the memory lane as I watched it on one sleepless night in Bangkok) to watch while stitching.
And as I still have couple of hours to spend before my laundry is dry I think it's time to stitch!

Ok, I know that some people think that Finland = Russia, but this is a bit too much... being in Bulgaria in WP's opinion.

...and the kids in this neighbourhood

...are still brats without no sense of manners. (I can name one of my neigbours whose kids have never been a problem to me. Or rather to whom I am not problem to... I know I am not like their parents, so? I don't have four arms nor I am have green skin... I really don't get it. Maybe I just have an invisible Oddball tattoo in my forehead. )

And to make it even more fun my new Hebrew book (Masa had an accident *ahem* with the old one) hasn't arrived to the bookstore yet even its delivery estimation was 1-2 weeks and it's almost three weeks since I ordered (and paid) it.

But The Best Thing today was...

I got mail from Leena (who had cunningly mentioned last week that she had sent something - that is so evil, don't you think? *grin*)!

She sent me one of the JCS issues I was drooling over and two Cross Stitchers (they contain Violarium's ads with image of some PD's design (admittedly it feels good to see my designs in an ad in a magazine such well known)), which, surprisingly, actually have couple of designs I might even stitch - there's a design from Ink Circles in JCS and that is a must-do.

Off to do the laundry, prepare my dinner and refresh my Hebrew skills...

And life carries on...

Only four days to go... (And I have been celebrating with playing around with specialty stitches. It may come out as a series, as I already have base for a needleroll, biscornu and a fob... I think I like it here in my cave. Solitude does me good.)

It's wonderful to know health of my neighbours better than they do themselves: at least my downstairs neighbour's.
Last night I was in bed trying to get some sleep and his snoring kept me awake, which is kind of accomplishment noticing that I had one cat purring loudly next to my ear (I can sleep in purring, I am used to it - but I have never got used to snoring, even I was married with a man who snored, until his tonsils were taken out) and he does live beneath me. I shouldn't hear a thing from his place.
While at it I noticed that downstairs neighbour seems to suffer from sleep apnea. He stops breathing every now and then as he stops snoring for few seconds. (In his case it is at least partially self-induced: he is severely overweight.)

Confessions of a bibliophile

You just got to love Finnish library system. After I checked my emails in library I happened to pass their books for sale stall (selling old and/or non-interesting (for general public) books is habit in local libraries, and sometimes you can find really good deals as they usually ask tops 1€ per book) and found two books (Spies by Michael Frayn and Half Broken Things by Morag Joss) in whopping price of 0.2€ per piece.
So, two new old books (they're barely opened deducing from their appearance) for me and 0.4€ to local library. I think I'm on the winning side in this deal.

Btw, I seem to get perverted pleasure from 'jumping' on the yard in my favourite skimpish (few cms above knees, quite giving collar and nice cut) home dress. (This makes my life much cooler so I'm just victim of weather and not having an air conditioning.)
I foresee angry glances from local female population as male population seems to like it...

666; Neighbourly love; whining

How suitable entry for little whining...

Why don't parents raise their kids? Back in stone age when I was kid (in eighties, that is) we were taught to behave in front of people. To respect others even they were different than we are. Or at least keep our mouths shut if it wasn't so.
Though, I think I shouldn't blame those kids, I should blame their parents who believe in hands-off parenting. Freedom just doesn't bring happiness. And children don't born fully programmed, they're tabula rasas when they born. Human beings need social programming, and I don't even dare to think how those kids will be when they grow up... if they're verbally abusive against others in mature age of ~5-7.

Yes, I know, it's easy for me to say as I don't have any of my own. But I have had time to think how I want to raise my future children. And my way is to love them and give them borders, not abandon them.

Ok, to sound completely paranoid, I've knew it long time that there are gossips about me in this neighbourhood, I know that some of my neighbours can't tolerate me as I'm so... me. (I could use word different, but I'm not. I'm just me. Though comparing...) I don't drink with them, I'm not social (yes, I admit I'm not. Should I change against my own will? Exactly), and apparently some of them are bit bitter that it was Dan who moved out two years ago, and not me. They liked him, see. (He knows how to smile, and be nice, to people he don't care that much or who he may even despise. It's a talent I admire in certain sense, I have to admit.)
Introverted little me is not suitable for a drinking buddy or good conspirator.

And maybe I'm dangerous, only Heaven knows why, as I've survived alone, without man by my side.
Only man they've seen with me, after Dan moved away, has been Abhi and it's ancient history. (Not to mention how they behaved when I was with him. They made it very clear that we're purely Finnish here (for clarity, A. is NRI). I've to admit their skill though, they never said it directly, but let us notice it. (One reason why we concentrated to meet at his place when we were together))
Actually one possibility is that hey think that I'm just too [something negative] to be good enough to any man in his right mind (So, this means that Wolfie is man in his left mind? If so, he has great left-mind.)... Which suits me very well, thank you very much.

Though I don't understand why I'm so intimidating. I'm quiet, well-behaving person. I don't harass anyone, I mind my own business and let people mind their own businesses...

I don't fit in here - but then, home is where the heart is and my heart is in Bangkok.

Mood swings and memories.

I've been tired and cranky whole day and I just realized why. I woke up today when I heard child screaming and crying. Then I heard her parents yelling. I don't know were they fighting with each others or were they yelling to her or what, but it was heartbreaking.

I kind of woke up to my own past. That if anything makes me tense. And in a way it's interesting that even I've got over my childhood similar situations still raise panic in me.

I realized all when I took some stuff to my storage room and I walked in front of my neighbours' apartment. I heard voices from there and it all came back to me.

I'd really like to know what it was all about.

...

And Sonnenschein has computer related problems so no sign of him - not to mention those problems with his parents. It seems that they've problems to admit that they're getting old and their kids are adults.

Neighbours

It's funny how my neighbours' attitude towards me changes when they think that my ex has moved back.
He has visited here earlier, but now he has been quite a while in here and it really seems to both of us that my neghbours live in hope. They've even started to greet me again.

We've been wondering what will they think when Sonnenschein moves in... OMG! She has a harem!

But that is not my problem.

Cross Stitching

My first exchange is done, I only need to get myself to postal office and send that sachet. It came out quite nicely even it is my first sachet ever.
My next project is to make pincushion with this:

It'll be my first waste canvas project, have to see how it'll come out...
