Couple of days ago I posted a link to one HAED design to my Facebook profile and had a little discussion in the comments with Anne about it as it was in my basket at HAED, but I couldn't justify it to myself even it was -50% off.
Well, I went to bed and the next day I had an email from HAED waiting for me! I had been RAKed by Anne who bought it to me as a housewarming gift!
Said design was Randal Spangler's Sanctuary of Knowledge and you probably understand why I fell in love with it...
Yes, books. A lot of books. (And fairies, of course. Little peris flying all around...)
One "like" factor is that it has so many little details that I might actually have endurance to stitch this one day, as even HAED's site is full of beautiful designs SO many of them have ton of background stitching which would make me abandon whole design (I know they have background removal service). With my attention sp-oh a butterfly!-an it's just wise to try to only like really, really detailed BAPs.
And naturally being Insanette of Needleworks I dream of stitching this on 40 count, over one. (Mind you, this is HUGE design (625 W by 468 H) and it will be big even on that.)
But, I think this is my FIRST cross stitch finish this year.
Yeah, that is how pathetic it has been.
There's a SAL of "Quaker Christmas II - Songs Of The Season" starting at TSSSDDDC and I can feel my resistance weakening...
Funny thing is that I never have liked the design much because of the texts and boring muted colours in the model picture, but now I find myself wanting to stitch it - and, because it takes a ton of hand-dyed floss, to dye my own floss. A ton of it as I really can't decide do I want it in shades of red or blue.
Maybe royal blue with dark red accents? Or to go with my current insanity: turquoise and pink. *grin*
Or maybe bright pink or turquoise on black... over one, naturally.
Yes, I am slightly insane. Luckily only slightly.
Those tiny things, those tiny things which say "I love you" louder than anything else.
I may have said it before, but I say it anyway: it was really worth every second to be single so long before Mr. Wonderful found me. And soon we have been together as long as I was waiting for Him.
So...
Everything is well, I am not, but that is normal anyway. *grin*
I have even been stitching lately, not much or quickly, but I am loving every minute spent stitching over one on 36 count linen. I have missed that. Maybe I even give you some stitchy content some day again. o.O
So, I am off to stitch again! Have to keep my mojo going now that I have found it again!
Since the very first time I saw this design I knew that if I ever stitch it I will stitch it multi-coloured on black fabric and here is how the first take looks like.
Doesn't it look so intricate stitched on one? I am really pleased with my decision to stitch this over one, it will be gorgeous when finished.
And by looking at the colour choices you could almost think that I have certain signature colour scheme...

Did I tell you that I placed an order at 1-2-3 Stitch! last week? My excuse is that I wanted to get the JCS ornament issue - and I happened to find few Schooler Santas from the clearance bin... and then couple of designs just kind of stuck... honestly the order was under 30 euros!
Work
It seems to me that I am riddled with lousy luck regarding employment at this moment: the job was told to be 5 days a week from this week forward. B*llocks, I say. I found out in Sunday that there's nothing for this week.
Luckily I had applied to my old employer last week when I met an old work mate of mine and he told they need more staff - today I received a call from the company and I have an interview tomorrow morning.
I know that he has a place thought for me already so unless I screw up the interview very badly I should get a new job.
We came to a conclusion that we are lousy fair visitors as we only paid one ticket (it was -50% evening), used whopping 6€ (my mom bought me a salt stone candle... erm... thingy (as I don't know the term for the thing - it's not a candelabra nor a candlestick) as salt stones should have a positive effect on asthmatic lungs) and got free tickets to be used in some of the spring's fairs just by filling a quality review form.
2. My GP gave me a free sample (120 doses, worth (without that 75% reimpursement officially diagnosed asthmatics get) ~75 €) of yet another bronchodilator when I met him in Wednesday and I think we have a winner: I get NO side effects whatsoever from it. My mother tried it too, having an astma and being curious (medication safety !ok *grin*), and it worked wonders on her lungs (and rest of her respiratory system), so she may ask a prescription for it from her GP.
Things learnt today...
Stitching a multi-colour design over one on 36 count linen is FUN!

That is what Siamese cats are at their best, cute as heck. ^^
