26th week

...started today. Of course this depends on which due date you look at, but I go according to the first DD I got from my antenatal nurse (3rd of March). Official DD is 4th (based on last ultrasound it would actually be 3rd if they'd change the dates in latter one) and actual DD would be 7th or 8th... complicated much?

Honestly it's unbelievable that we are this far along already. Two weeks from now BW would have over 90% chance to survive if born. 12 weeks and he is officially full-term in local standards. Twelve! (And only eight weeks of work left!)

Health wise I have been better, though suffered of insomnia/ sleeping problems two weeks... after seeing a doc and getting some melatonin I slept last night like a baby - without even touching those pills. Strong stuff, eh?
What was really interesting was that the doc suggested antidepressants even he knows that I am pregnant and as far as I know most antidepressants are forbidden during pregnancy (and in my case certain ones are forbidden because I have thyroid illness). Maybe he forgot? I think he still has eyes on him...

(For comparison: 13+4 weeks when I had some growth, but MUCH less understandably.)

Yes, I am over 30 kgs overweight, but still I have never had that kind of stomach and that doc has seen me few times too often not to remember how I used to look like. (My waist has grown over 20 cm since July and all to front side.)
Not to mention that it is in their file that I am pregnant...
He has had some smart moments lately, but I guess he is not really a winter person then.

What actually bugs me somewhat is that people don't seem to recognize that as a pregnancy belly... even it's growing straight ahead! If it was all fat it would look different... On the other hand no one is trying to touch the belly without my permission.

Stitchy things, flowers and iGoogle

First a word from our sponsor: My alter ego is looking for model stitchers so if you want some fame and bragging rights you can find the details under this link.

Hibiscus

I have always been more as a brown thumb than green one so what I found from our bigger hibiscus the other day made me really happy...

I have never ever seen blooming hibiscus and always thought it would be difficult to make blossom... but this bugger did this all by itself!

iGoogle

I've been using iGoogle for a while and am really happy with it (because I can see feeds (now that I have slowly migrated to Google Reader), email and news in one place without having to run around internet) with one exception... lack of really nice themes so one night I made one myself!

It's from a picture I took at mom's cabin 2008 and you can find it from the database as Chive Flowers.

The Swine Swears It Wasn't Him

The story goes as follows: after six days on sick leave due sinusitis and bronchitis I happily went to work on last Tuesday... I was still on antibiotics.

Note that I was on antibiotics. (Yes, repetitive.)

During those four hours I started to feel sick again and measured my temperature. Turns out I have fever (being on antibiotics it's odd), but as it was only four hour day and I was almost finished anyway I stayed and went to see the doctor the following day (day 1 after antibiotics).

D: "It's possible that you have a virus which has been supressed by an opportunistic bacteria and now that the bacteria is dying/ had died the virus has better possibility to reproduce and spread around."

Me: "So, I may have, for example, The Swine Flu?"

D: "That is very much possible, but I can't say for sure because you simply have fever and muscle weakness."

By the end of the week I had gone through all the non-fatal symptoms of The Flu. On Monday I saw a doc, another doc. After telling him what symptoms I had had we had the following conversation:
D: "I won't make the test because you have no symptoms of influeza."

Me: WTF? So, you're basically saying that I have some odd virus which, oddly enough, has all the symptoms of the Flu and is as long lasting?

D: "... you must have sinusitis."

Me: Well, I rarely have fever when I have it, I have never been this sick with sinusitis and, the point here is that, my sinuses and face don't hurt."

D: *echoes my sinuses* "There's nothing here... You should get X-rayed... but I give you three days off, and if you're still sick come back and we X-ray your sinuses."

    Me: *by herself* "Ok..."

So....

Basically, after being bed-ridden for a week with all the non-fatal symptoms it may be too late to even diagnose the Flu if I have had it because I have an odd feeling of getting better.
I understand that this way the doc thinks he ensures that I get the vaccination (not that I am paranoid or anything ), but... I am highly suspicious about the stuff for various reasons, one of them being my know hypersensitivy to certain medications and tons of other stuff, so I am not too sure do I get it - seasonal one I will take, as usual.

(By the way, when it comes to Neko (Mr. Avatar Kitty) he's enjoying his new life at my sister's (don't ask how he ended there )- he even has a new Lady friend now: Neko & Tellervo.)

Myself, He, Must-Haves, new stash etc.

I was playing with my cell phone's camera today when on my way to work...

Not too bad noticing that it is edited with my cell phone's image editor.

An apartment is not a home without him

I took some stuff home yesterday (I have been at my mom's since Mr. Wonderful traveled: first watching cats and after she returned I just haven't had any days off i.e. no time to transfer all my stuff from A to B) and it really hit me how much I miss him. Everything at home reminds me of him and even all his things make me smile it hurts to miss him as much as I do - though on the positive side every day is one day closer to his return.
It will be difficult to be at home without him there: though I can avoid that quite well by working insanely and on 10th we head to our mother's cabin to celebrate our 90th - having some company will be good for me - and we won't return before 14th. Hopefully He is coming back around that time, finally (as it is taking longer than anticipated for him to get the documents etc., but August has been holiday season in Spain), as honestly speaking I feel lost without him by my side.

At least now I know that what I always say to him is true: he usually asks how my day has been when I come home from work and I reply "it's great now as I am at home with you". Now my days are incomplete as I can't kiss him when I come home, sleep with him or wake up beside him.

*sigh*

[Insert drool here]

I have a bad habit to check new additions at 1-2-3 Stitch! every now and then and I must say that the latest new additions are just so... on my wish list!

Stash and quotes

The long-awaited stash!

You may ask "What's the thing with those Schooler Santas then?" and I have to admit that I am not quite sure. I just like them as they are different from regular santa designs as they have an idea behind them (and well, the fact that I am in love with an Anglican may have something to do with it).

I have been doing household chores today and when I threw the trash out I found something very useful from the trash shed: look at these babes.

Yes, they are wine boxes. In other words they used to be wine boxes and nowadays they are stash boxes.

The natural coloured is a real box with hinges and clasp, the black one has sliding top, but still it is very useful for stitchy stuff.

Few quotes about long-distance relationships

Originally from here.

"To truly love something, you must first give it a chance to fail. If it survives, it is going to be stronger than ever. Distance is pure proof of this, and forever we will love if we survive. "

"Missing someone gets easier everyday because even though you are one day further from the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will."

"There is no long distance about love, it always finds a way to bring hearts together no matter how many miles there are between them.

"Distance never separates two hearts that really care, for our memories span the miles and in seconds we are there. But whenever I start feeling sad, because I miss you, I remind myself how lucky I am to have someone so special to miss."

"When you feel alone, just look at the spaces between your fingers, remember that in those spaces you can see my fingers locked with yours forever."

"So close your eyes and sleep to dream. I'm by your side. No words to speak. We'll set our course and make it through. No matter how far I go, my heart remains with you."

"It's not the distance that counts, it's the love."

And one from yours truly, from few years back: "Distance is just a word."

It isn't a surprise that I miss Mr. Wonderful quite a great deal, he has been on the road for five weeks now (two weeks from now he returns to Europe! ) and because of the circumstances we haven't been able to be in contact as much as we would have wanted to - or are used to.
But it makes us appreciate each other even more. Of course I can only talk about myself and I have to say that during these weeks I have grew to understand how deeply he has got into me even we haven't knew each other that long. Days just miss something when he's not part of them (in addition being in my thoughts constantly, that is).

No, I am not getting mushy. I have been mushy since late July or so, I just have tried to hide it well.

"How many skeins do you see?" and Tallinn

I received my GASTs from One Star's Light Needlework Supplies yesterday and after some floss apartheid I had this pile of floss for the Rose Sampler SAL with Linda.
I was curious and counted how many skeins I have reserved...

...

31.

Noticing that Ellen recommends that when stitched on two threads over two one should reserve 12 skeins altogether and that I am going to stitch this over one with one strand I think I have enough. I am not quite sure though.

Tallinn

Few shots from Tallinn, mostly from Vana Tallinn i.e. the Old City of Tallinn:

The interior shot is from Peppersack, the restaurant where we had lovely, lovely lunch: chichen fillet with wild rice, curry sauce and mango chutney with small glass of house white wine and for dessert some white chocolate mousse with rum cherries and the best cappucino I have drank since Nyíregyháza.

I am tired, but it was fun. ^^

Back

I could have stayed week or two, but the car was rented and so forth so here I am again, as promised. (I may go back there with my mother in August.)

Pictures can be found from here - as you probably guess those are mostly kitties.
