  2. What is your favourite Olympic sport to watch?
Anything with well-developed men in tights.

  3. Goldfinger or Goldmember? Would you rather watch a James Bond movie or a Mike Myers comedy?
It depends on with whom I watch it.

    No.

All In The Family

  1. Which member of your family do you get along with the best?
My mother and my sister. I get along with both in different ways, but I can't say which one I get along better with.

  2. What aspects of your personality do you think are a direct result of the way you were raised?
    My...
    • curiosity.
    • hunger for knowledge.
    • love for literature and arts.
    • respect towards my fellow man - until they prove being not worth it.
    • fairness. (I have two siblings and we always had to share.)
    • honesty.
    • ability for abstract thinking.
    • tendency to question everything.
    • sense of responsibility.

  3. What's the stupidest fight you've ever had with a family member?
    Can't recall.

  4. Who in your family do you look the most like?
My mother, though I would say I am actually quite good mix of both.

  5. Do you relate to the characteristics associated with your place in the birth order? (ie. Only children are regarded as being typically selfish and youngest children are often babied. Check out the Wikipedia article on birth order for further info).
None. I am youngest of three, but I was never babied. Admittedly I have sensed that I am always that kid because I am youngest of us, but I won't let it bother.

Meme overdose

Monday Madness

  1. Where did you go on your last vacation?
if it applies as such: City of Angels (aka. Bangkok) from 15th of June to 16th of July, 2006.

  2. Would you go there again? Why or why not?
    Heck yes!
Nice climate, loads of delicious fruits, great cuisine, cheap cross stitch patterns... I may have mention that I liked it there.

  3. How many vacations do you take in one year?
Depends on aspect of vacation. None in normal year.

  4. Where would you REALLY like to go on your next vacation, if money was no issue, and how long would you stay?
If money, and cats, was no issue I'd go around the world. And knowing myself it would be a long, long trip. (All those museums and ruins to explore! Tons of bookstores! All that.)

  5. Do you put a little money aside each week (or month) to save up for your vacation?
No. As I live from hand to mouth budget at this moment.

mondaysabitch presents Random Joy

  1. If you were given a blank canvas and watercolours, what would you paint?
Canvas and watercolours? For some reason I doubt that watercolours would attach very well on painting canvas... If we skip the facts I'd probably just create an impression of my current emotional state with colours.

  2. Are you more likely to be someone's partner in crime or their conscience?
Depends. Usually I am the conscience though due my overstrung moral fibers.

  3. Have you ever been to see a fortune teller or card reader? Were any of their predictions accurate?
    No.

  4. Would you sponsor a child abroad?
    Why not?

  5. What's your favourite youtube video?
    I am not into YouTube.

For once a topic which I can relate with!

Electronic Relations

  1. Do you find it easier to talk about touchy subjects over the internet, as opposed to face-to-face or over the phone?
I am honest to a fault and blunt as you can be, so no. It depends more on the person I need to communicate with than surroundings where it happens.

  2. If you had a chance to meet someone that you've only known online in real life, would you?
    Abso-friggin'-lutely!
Just ask how many times I have done it.

  3. Have you ever met someone you originally knew from the internet?
See previous. But don't ask me tell how many times exactly, that is too difficult...

  4. Do you consider any people you know purely through the internet to be your friends?
Absolutely. Why not? I don't find it basis for a friendship that you have met person in flesh.

  5. How do you feel about having romantic relationships with people you only speak to/know over the internet?
They are possible, they are alright, they do happen and I am pro in them.
I met my ex-husband in a chat room back in 1998 and since I separated from him every single man I have dated/ loved has come to my life through 'net. (Waves to A., Sol, Wolfie and N. *grin*)

I am nerd/ geek/ oddball and proud of it.

Random Joy
  1. If you had been married for a long time(say 15+ years) and your spouse had a brief, meaningless affair, would you want to know about it? Why or why not?
If it could be kept as a secret and if my spouse would have used STD protection... no.
Been there, done that and I realised that sometimes truth is best to left untold.

  2. What's something that you consider too serious to be joked about?
    Can't recall anything right now.

  3. What's one reason some people don't get along with you?
I am too opinionated for their taste.

  4. If you were an evil dictator, where would you want to rule?
Whole Universe, nothing less is good enough. *evil grin*

  5. What is the best excuse you've given when wanting to get off the phone with someone?
I don't do excuses, nor phone calls, that much...

Haute Couture

  1. If you were meeting a blind date, what would you hope they weren't wearing?
I am not usually too picky, but if guy would turn up wearing baggy pants (you know those "hip hop" style ones) or dirty clothes it'd ruin first impression succesfully. (One of the reasons why I dislike baggy pants is that I am buttock person... *grin*)
Otherwise I don't care that much: clean and looks good on you is usually the way to dress on (blind) dates with me.

  2. What colour looks best on you?
According to my own and general opinion: black. Which is good as that is about all I wear.

  3. What was the most recent article of clothing that you bought for yourself?
I really can't remember. Probably some knickers.

  4. Do you have an article of clothing that is now unwearable, but you just can't seem to part with it?
    No.

  5. Did you see "The Devil Wears Prada"? What did you think of it?
    Haven't seen it.

Last But Not Least

1. Last time you ate Kraft Dinner?
(Why we seem to assume that we all live in States?) Never.

2. Last thing you bought yourself for no practical purpose whatsoever?
Define practical purpose. As everything has some purpose, even those ghastly porcelain kitties people buy (they buy them because they think they are pretty and that is a function).

3. Last time you left the country?
19th of February 2007, 8:00.

4. Last time you did a crossword puzzle?
Aeons ago...

5. Last photograph you took?
Do digital pictures count as photographs or do you mean those paper thingies? Allow me to assume that digital pictures count.. respect his authority cuteness.^^

And we b*tch

mondaysabitch: Nameless

On a scale of 1-10, how _____________ are you? (Feel free to elaborate on why you chose your answer).

  1. Confident in yourself
It really depends on a day, but I'd say 8+.
I know I can do this and that, but because I feel that my talents go to dogs in here my confidence tends to have peaks, in both directions.

  2. Energetic
Funny you should ask that... It depends: if I have a deadline I can go two weeks without decent night's sleep (I think my best has been 14 h/2 weeks...), if I've no special reason to be energetic I usually aren't - unless it's few days before my menses...

  3. Artistic
As I see it as different thing as creativity, I'd say... 7.
When it comes to creativity I'd have gave myself better points.

  4. Emotional
Just ask how much. On average 9½.

  5. Cautious
Sometimes too much, sometimes not enough... if I give 7 for caution, and 9 for paranoia...
Back to finishing...

  1. After a long day, I like to kick back with...?
Music, stitching, worshipping my dears... I could think of few other activities if I had a partner in crime.

Tarja Halonen (our president). (It happened at work few years ago.)

  3. What is your favourite piece of classical music?
Rachmaninov's (it is written with v in Russian...) 3rd piano concerto. Sheer bliss.

  4. Have you ever found and picked up any money off the ground? How much?
I was a kid and as far as I remember it was something as whopping as 10 Finnish marks (1,4 €).

  5. How much money would it take for you to give up the internet for a year?
Give up internet?! Are you insane?!
Now this is more like it...

Who would win in a death match between...

  1. The Care Bears VS The Smurfs?
The Smurfs, of course! (Papa Smurf, my childhood hero.)

  2. Barbies VS Bratz?
Bratz, unless Barbies would stab them to death with their high heels.

  3. Samuel "Screech" Powers VS Steve Urkel?
    Excuse my ignorance... who?

  4. He-Man VS Terminator?
    Terminator. *grin*

  1. What (aside from the obvious year round tanning or novelty of seeing snow) would really appeal to you about living in a climate opposite to the one you're used to?

Why you assume that I'd appreciate year round tanning?
But hmm, opposite climate would mean living in about Sahara... All the sand? *g*

  2. What would you be most curious about experiencing if you were able to spend one day as the opposite gender?

      First: "opposite sex".
Repeat after me: gender is in your brains, sex is your physical being. Thank you for co-operation.
I'd say that penetrating someone would be interesting... (see, I'm already thinking like your regular John Doe. *grin*)

  3. Would you be able to spend a fixed length of time (such as a month or a year) completely immersed in a culture which did not include the comforts that you're used to?

You're saying that I had to live without internet?! We are so not having a deal!

  4. Do you think you would find it easier to deal with being unusually short, or with being unusually tall?

Ermm... tall, I think. Though I still prefer being about average in this issue.

  5. If you had the opportunity to spend a month living in the shoes of someone that you either don't like or don't respect, just to see if you could gain a better understanding of why they are the way that they are, would you take it? Conversely, if you had the opportunity to put someone of this nature in your shoes for a month for the same reason, would you take it?

I'd most likely end up hating being in someone's shoes if I weren't able to control their deeds.
And when it comes to having someone in my shoes... I think my brother could use a bit of How it is to be me, that evil sl*t

Our regularly scheduled memesy: Monday's A B*tch

What do you associate most with...

  1. Being a nerd?
  2. Being healthy?
  3. Being free?
  4. Being lazy?
  5. Being normal?
One word/term, and some free association:

1. Sexy. Nerdiness is sexy, at least from my viewpoint as I've very serious case of intellect fetish... (You just can't get between my sheets if you don't have it. Intellect.) And I'm proud to consider myself as one (and it's not that many days ago when someone called me sexy nerdette last time *grin*).

2. Subjective. One guru says one thing, other says something completely different. What matters most is how you feel. Balance is the word.

3. Spiritual freedom. Don't try to control me or my mind as we need to be free. Let me be free and I'm free to stay with you.

4. Relative. I'm lazy, I idle a lot, but still I'm usually doing something - you just may not see it.

5. Mundane. What is normal? From sociology's view it's something what majority does, and as majority creates the norm it's just another word for common. And even I understand that most people are like other people and like to be normal it's always worth thinking is it what you want?
In certain sense every single one of us belong to some minority, therefore every one of us is abnormal to certain extent.
It's same thing with natural: everything which happens in nature (flora, fauna, you name it) is natural, some incidents just aren't as common as others.

Scales

On a scale of 1-10, how _____________ are you? (Feel free to elaborate on why you chose your answer).

  1. Extroverted
From 1 to 10, depending on a case. Those people I know would never say that I'm not extroverted deducing from my behaviour around them, but then... they know me.
I can be completely closed down or bubbly, open person so I can't say anything precise. Usually I make it easy by saying that I am either extroverted introvert or introverted extrovert.

  2. Evil
'Evil' is such a relative aspect. To some people I am evil bitch, and I know why it is so, but some people like me, even love me, as I am and they think I'm kind and sweet.
So, it may be better to get into my mind and have a view to those things people seem to think as impure or evil... I'd say 8.

  3. Stressed
    9. In my case it's completely financial. I hate insecurity.

  4. Strong
Physically, mentally or both? And compared to what?
Physically I'd say I'm average woman, but I give impression of strength because of my muscularity.
Mentally... well, if we think everything I've gone trough in my life in general, and lately, I can't say that I weren't strong, but I am not saying I am strong... I'd say 7.

  5. Weird
Compared to what and according to whom? Compared to stereotypes of a female in my society I'd say 8.

OT

And while I remember, thank you for all the nice comments on my latest finishes and WIPs. ^^

  1. If you know you're going to be spending a quiet day at home reading, watching tv, etc., do you change out of your PJs?
I don't use PJs, but if I were to use them I'd change out of them after morning shower (I have to be very sick to miss my morning shower).

  2. What do you do to pass the time on a long car trip?
Look out the window. I used to read, but it seems to me that our old buddy car sickness is getting back after few years of absence.

  3. If you had to date one of the seven dwarves, who would you choose and why? (Your options are Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy).
Doc. Assumingly he's the wisest of them all so even he stutters I wouldn't care. He might tell interesting things about gems. (I've this thing for nerdy males... )

  4. What one thing would you recommend that everyone try at least once in their life?
    Thinking would be nice...

  5. If you were hosting a dinner party and were able to have one writer, one musician and one actor of your choice as guests, who would be at your table, and what would you feed them?
    Ah, difficult...
Writer: Stephen King (I love the man)
    Musician: Ermmm... eh... Maybe Hector
Actor: Hmm... Nicholas Cage, just because I've always liked him (ie. before he became The Nicolas Cage)

Ah, I forgot to feed them... well, I'll figure something out when they're coming over. *grin*

  1. What kind of salt and pepper shakers do you have?
I'm not sure do I actually have any...

  2. What was your first word? (Or if you don’t remember, what do you think it should have been?)
It was something usual, mother (in child lingo, of course, and in Finnish) very possibly.

  3. Do you own Crocs? Do you ever find yourself judging people wearing Crocs?
Hey, those look like clogs. Anyway, I think this is difference between pop culture between Old and New continent. I've never ever heard of Crocs before now...

  4. What was the last book you read?
Same as it was in meme before, Sanjay Nigam's Transplanted Man.

  5. How personal is the stuff you write about on your blog?
Very personal. Even personal enough for some people having problems about it as I blog about people in my life too. If you can't take it, just don't read my blog. Easy, huh?

mondaysabitch; Mortality

Day late, but still...

Memento Mori
  1. How comfortable are you with the idea of your own death and mortality in general? Does it bother you to think/talk about it?
I can't prevent dying, can I? So, it's one of the facts of life I just accept. I just hope I can stay in here quite a while annoying people.

  2. How would you like your remains to be handled? Would you prefer to be buried, cremated, etc., and why?
Buried. Actually I have no reasonable base on that want...

  3. What would you like your funeral to be like?
Small, only those people who cared about me. I don't like the idea that someone who has despised me when I lived tries to buy good self-conscience by acting against one real colours just because. They can pay a homage, but it can be done quietly.

  4. What was your first experience with death?
I think it was my paternal grandmother, but I've to admit I don't remember that much about it - and to be honest, her death wasn't devastating because I was actually afraid of her...

  5. How would you prefer to die, and why?
Fast, peacefully, being hold by beloved one.
I don't want to be alone when I die, even less in pain or suffer long.
