Dragons, whines and cats

You remember this little fellow?

I had a brainstorm in wee hours of Thursday morning (stash drooling with fellow stitcher is great time for brainwaves - got to love IM services) considering Dragon of Hope. I'll do another one, mirrored one and carrying Earth with Atlantic view on its arms.

And... I got an idea while reading my previous entry... Three piece passepartout, dragons in both sides and some suitable quote in middle piece.

And to the official whine

I don't get one thing in human kind: why is my relatively low alcohol consumption such a big deal to people? And how in Earth it seems to relate with "having no life"?
Ok, I am admittedly no-life (and I don't understand why it's a problem to some, if I'm contented with my way shouldn't it be just good thing?), but it has nothing to do with the fact that I can live without alcohol. (I just happen to love my mind more than messing with it.)

That sort of things piss me off and are one factor in my returning heavy-duty misanthropism.

And just to end this entry with a bit sweeter tone...

Kitty pictures! (Soon you'll curse the day when new digital camera came.... *evil grin*)

They say Siameses are possessive... She just thinks that scratching her is much more important than browsing.

And extreme cutesy from yesterday...

And, those perfect circles and Zen in practise by professionals...

Christmas. Yule. What-ever. Celebrations of light.

I've intended to blog about this topic for some time, but haven't been in the mood (maybe just not annoyed enough or something?). Anyway, if you doubt a bit about reading religion related rants save yourself and do not read this.

This is that time of the year when you continuously realize that Western world lives in that odd assumption of Christianity. To some people (to most, according to my 26 year experience) it seems to be somewhat difficult, even impossible, to understand that person doesn't have to be Christian (or to believe in G-d(s) of any kind) - unfortunately it seems to me that to some people you got to be (at least) demon from Hell if you don't believe in G-d.

That has been a problem to me in past, nowadays I'm slightly "better" person as I can say that I do believe in G-d... but then they assume I'm a Christian.
(To make it clear: I have nothing against Christians, I just hate assumptions (and judging). And as I have lived without religion most of my life I have got so much **** about that so I think I've reason to be bit fed up to human beings - and in Western society I live in main religion is Christianity so it's the one which suffers from general idiocy of human kind.)

Ok, I do believe in G-d nowadays, but I'm not a Christian... And what happens to bother me about this season is that no one doesn't seem to understand that we all don't celebrate Christmas - and don't see any need to it (as it seems to me that some people actually feel sorry for us ).
Why should we? If we don't believe in Jesus as a Messiah, if we don't believe in trinity... why should we see any need?

World is full of religions and quite many of them have celebrations of light in this time of year (I count Christmas to those also because it has to do with light (star, see)). That's why I have learned to like phrase "Happy Holidays!". Yes, it's very PC (according to some even too much of it), but in my opinion it's best way.
At least I see red every time someone wishes me "Merry Christmas". I know that most people don't understand it (I could say a word about that too, later maybe), and they mean well, but anyway... it just feels a bit wrong. At least after I've mentioned in every possible situation that in my case it's more like Yule (Phonetically closer to Finnish word joulu, and as pagan feast it's closer to our way (lots of food, having a good time with family - and yes, giving gifts (because it's fun, not because wise men did it))).

Yule has never been that much of a thing for me, but I've to admit that I like Finnish Yule cuisine. It originates from poor peasants, but oh my those foods taste great. (Here are recipes to some traditional Finnish Yule foods - in English)

Anyway, lately it has been even less the thing for me. Nowadays it's just part of my social inheritance - in future I wont celebrate it individually, I'll "celebrate" it just because of social inheritance. I'll have other celebration of light...

But, even this is a bit early:

    Happy everything!

    Joyous Yule
    Happy Hanukah;
    חנוכה טוב

    Merry Christmas
    Good Kwanzaa
    Silly Saturnalia
    and good belated
    Divali
    Eid

Thoughts from misanthropic mind.

[vent] I just can't stop wondering human kind.

There seems to be some unbeatable need in most humans to "normalize" everything and everyone different to be something they can understand.

Take for example me: I'm shamelessly what I am, as I see no point in acting against myself because of social pressure, as it would be acting against myself - and in the end I'm only responsible to me.
I know I'm difficult person, to say it mildly, but that is how it is - and being intelligent (To sound arrogant and being complete b**tard ... with my IQ I could get to Mensa for example. And no, I don't think that IQ is measurement of humanity, so don't even start...) doesn't make it any easier to be "socially acceptable". And it's even less acceptable as I am a 46 XX karyotype...

More than once I've heard that I think too much (And how that is possible?!), and I use too difficult language and therefore I'm a hoax. Humans seem to be unable to realize that everything they don't understand is not automatically bad.
I question every truth and I demand proves. I think outside the box... and what is worst, I'm not ashamed of being me and liking myself. And because I'm like this I'm an egoistic bastard, a hoaxer, an arrogant idiot... And then they come and ask why I am a misanthrope.

There seems to be also thoughts about my emotional coldness. Which is complete bs, but you can know that only if you know me. I just don't express my emotions to people who I don't know - and who are not worth of my trust.
And in the end it's all just being too honest: I can't fool myself and act like "normal" women/ human beings are supposed to act in certain social situations when empathy is in question. I can feel empathy, but it's not just that simple on - off case for me.

But I know there's something "wrong" with me as I don't for example babble to every baby I see. Sometimes it feels, and seems, that in eyes of majority I'm an officially accredited baby-hater.
I just aren't babbler in that sense. I wont babble to my future children, as IMNSHO it's underestimating, and degrading, baby's human dignity.

And what makes it odd is that to some people I'm good as I am. And if I'm a treasure in my ex's opinion I can't be that bad, can I? [/vent]

"The misanthrope hates not man. The misanthrope hates idiocy, stupidity, self-righteousness, authoritarianism, selfishness, greed, ignorance, dishonesty, cant, and balderdash. All of these he hates rightfully. The problem is that all of these are shared by no other member of the animal kingdom but man. And the misanthrope does not entertain the vain hope that these traits will ever stop determining man's behavior." (From 'My Life with Thrill Kill Karl')

For once someone has found the truthful explanation for misanthropy. Maybe I am not that bad person anyway because I dislike human idiocy. In fact I found it quite amusing that I am socially very talented and emphatic, but I have just this one problem... Humans.

Some people wonder why I have so little social contacts. Mainly I wonder how that can be problem to some complete stranger when it isn't that great problem to me. I just try to avoid palpitation by staying away from 'normal' people. I can't give them nothing, they can't give me nothing. At least that is how I feel. For me it is impossible to think life without meaning, life without thinking.
And... I am completely happy when I have at least one friend who understand me. One person who knows me and loves me anyway. One person with whom I can talk about anything and laugh to anything. And that one doesn't even need to live where I live. That suits for me. I have my peace and anyway it is possible to interact with that person almost when ever I want to. And vice versa.

I am abnormal because I think, because I use my brains. Ok, there is nothing wrong but my gender just happens to be wrong. :D For some reason it is difficult to 'locals' when woman uses her brains and admits it.

Sometimes I think I may sound quite bitter person. Maybe I am, but I really don't think so. I happen to like me and I know that there is people out there who appreciate me for what I am. That makes my heart smile. :)
