Since the very first time I saw this design I knew that if I ever stitch it I will stitch it multi-coloured on black fabric and here is how the first take looks like.
Doesn't it look so intricate stitched on one? I am really pleased with my decision to stitch this over one, it will be gorgeous when finished.
And by looking at the colour choices you could almost think that I have certain signature colour scheme...

Did I tell you that I placed an order at 1-2-3 Stitch! last week? My excuse is that I wanted to get the JCS ornament issue - and I happened to find few Schooler Santas from the clearance bin... and then couple of designs just kind of stuck... honestly the order was under 30 euros!

It seems to me that I am riddled with lousy luck regarding employment at this moment: the job was told to be 5 days a week from this week forward. B*llocks, I say. I found out in Sunday that there's nothing for this week.
Luckily I had applied to my old employer last week when I met an old work mate of mine and he told they need more staff - today I received a call from the company and I have an interview tomorrow morning.
I know that he has a place thought for me already so unless I screw up the interview very badly I should get a new job.
(and running around Metropolitan area in interviews and writing applications)) and health issues I am badly behind with the Spanish Sampler MSAL, but I am slowly getting there (though I should be stitching models and not this... AAARGH!).The more I stitch this the more I like the design. Stitching the design really makes the difference compared to previews.

The original pattern is charted for DMC but I made an Anchor conversion to be able to avoid using DMC. Don't you just love the colours?
As you know, I justified again...
Few days ago I noticed that I had accidentally received two copies of 1993 Schooler Santa and I soon invented a cunning plan: I suggested my mother that she could learn to stitch using that pattern as it is rather easy and has Santa on it (you know my mother's love for them). I even promised to "kit" it for her.
Luckily I have some 18 count aida in case she finds evenweave too difficult to begin with so I can provide her some selection regarding the fabrics.

) by ordering some patterns... Today I checked how many justifications I ordered and the realization led me to admit that I should join Stash Addicts Anonymous which led me to design little something as I thought that I am not only one who'd love to manifest their addiction.

The file with all three versions is uploaded to Periphaeria Designs so if you admit having a stash addiction you know what to do.
I haven't model stitched it yet as this design really is newborn and I just wanted to get it published, but I am sure I will take some me time some of these days and stitch one of the versions for myself with some nice overdyed.
I received my GASTs from One Star's Light Needlework Supplies yesterday and after some floss apartheid I had this pile of floss for the Rose Sampler SAL with Linda.

Noticing that Ellen recommends that when stitched on two threads over two one should reserve 12 skeins altogether and that I am going to stitch this over one with one strand I think I have enough. I am not quite sure though.

The interior shot is from Peppersack, the restaurant where we had lovely, lovely lunch: chichen fillet with wild rice, curry sauce and mango chutney with small glass of house white wine and for dessert some white chocolate mousse with rum cherries and the best cappucino I have drank since NyÃregyháza.
I am tired, but it was fun. ^^
The darker greens ARE of different shade, it just doesn't show too well on the stitched piece.

Yes, more kitty pictures! They just are enjoying the summer (in here summer is when average temperature is over 10° C...) and showing it.
(The latter one is great example of Her Highnesses ears before and after the blood ear last spring.)
And now I should be going to shower, I have to be out of the door ten past nine!

Honestly speaking it looks thousand times better in real life, and I have to say that I am loving this "little" project already.
I have been stitching the first band today and I have to say that I am loving the design and the silks - VCs cover so well that I almost started with one strand instead of two, but decided that as I have charted and estimated the floss usage for two strands I should stitch it with two.
